Synchronicity city

synchronicity city.jpeg

I saw someone I thought was you today
He had the apathy of genius
Stirred into a fire of desire
With a bit of open-heartedness
Selected carefully for good honest measure
Lust, loneliness, pride, grief
I don't think of you often these days
But when I do I'm reminded
It's been six years
Since you kissed me goodbye
Six years since I drove (you) away
Thinking too much
Maybe one day
And I haven't run into you
Not once since
Which must be something
More than coincidence
In a place as large and small as this
Synchronicity city

I never got to thank you
For all you never gave me
For all I had to find
Within myself
